Speed switches are relay contacts that can be set to a switch state at a pre-adjusted speed setpoint. GAC offers single, dual, and triple element speed switches; some are integrated and some are stand alone. Single element speed switches (overspeed) are typically used with a shutoff device. Dual element speed switches (overspeed and crank) add the ability to integrate a starter relay or other device at crank. Triple element speed switches (overspeed, crank, and parallel) contain an extra speed switch which is used for paralleling. Typically, controllers with speed switches also have an LED, as well as a test (latching) and reset button to confirm operation. The following GAC products have speed switches:
