The EEG7500
GAC’s Flexible Engine Controller
The EEG7500 is an Enhanced Electronic Digital Speed Controller and Positioner Controller that operates either bidirectional motors or proportional actuators with or without a position feedback signal. The EEG7500 provides extra performance and stability in speed governing, precise fuel limiting, and flexible authority for torque curve shaping, making it the best choice for variable speed applications. It’s compatible with bidirectional motor solutions (torque motor, Bosch throttle body, etc.) and has open-loop actuator position control without speed control (Lambda ratio, EGR valve, etc.)
Features:
- 3 Operating Modes:
- Position Feedback Governing for Variable Speed Applications
- Offers incredible transient performance even on fixed speed applications
- Fixed Speed Governing without Position Feedback
- Actuator or Motor Positioner with Position Feedback
- Position Feedback Governing for Variable Speed Applications
- Compatible with Bidirectional Motors and Proportional Actuators
- Built-in USB Port for Easy Configuration
- Flexible I/O:
- 4 Analog and 2 Discrete Inputs, 1 Analog and 3 Discrete Outputs
- Accepts 0-5V, 4-20mA, 0-10V or +/-3V Input Signals
- CAN SAE J1939 and RS232 Communications
GAC’s EEG7500 digital governor is designed to regulate engine speed on diesel and gaseous fueled engines. When paired with a GAC actuator, or compatible motor, the EEG system is an upgrade for any mechanical governor system that needs flexibility, precision, or accurate control of governed speed. The EEG is designed for industrial engine applications from generator sets, mechanical drives, pumps, compressors, and off-road mobile equipment.
Programmed using GAC’s Configuration Tool Software, the EEG is set up with a user-friendly interface for application configuration as well as diagnostics and ease of troubleshooting. The GAConfig Tool is a free download from GAC’s Website.

Application of the Month:
BioWorks Energy LLC of Grand Blanc, MI built a custom biogas fueled co-generation unit using a 21.9L, V12 MAN E2842 engine. Cogeneration (cogen) through combined heat and power is the simultaneous production of electricity with the recovery and utilization of heat. Cogeneration is a highly efficient form of energy conversion and achieves a primary energy savings of approximately 40% compared to the separate purchase of electricity from a utility company’s electrical grid and a separate gas boiler for onsite heating.
Gaseous fueled cogen units are typically used for commercial, residential, and industrial applications and can easily be configured with a GAC ATB (integrated actuator/throttle body assembly) controlled by a variety of either digital or analog governors with an ‘Anti-Wind-Up’ PID feature that minimizes RPM over-shoot and/or under-shoot. The ‘Anti-Wind-Up’ PID is specifically designed for gaseous fueled engines.
BioWorks Energy LLC has specially configured their MAN engine combining GAC’s EEG7500 Enhanced Electronic Governor, operating in the positioning control mode, with an ATB552T2F14-24 integrated actuator/throttle body equipped with a position feedback sensor for the gaseous fuel control valve system. The EEG7500 receives a 4-20 mA input signal from the PLC, controlling the ATB’s position to properly regulate the gas flow rate for all operating conditions. Engine speed is regulated with the ESD5330 controller that features a unique power drive circuit specifically for large, higher current actuators.

GAC offers a variety of engine control systems ranging from straight single speed governors to combined air-fuel ratio and speed control systems that use the feedback from an exhaust oxygen sensor to maintain the specified air-fuel ratio.

We are happy to announce that GAC is now using IMDS, the
